Dr. Takenaka
Dr. Tracy Takenaka was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with a Minor in Music from the University of California at Berkeley, she left the East Bay for the Big Apple, and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in 2004. She completed a General Practice Residency program while on active duty in the United States Navy at Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2005. After a 3-year tour overseas as a general dentist in Yokosuka, Japan, she returned to America in 2008 to begin specialty training in pediatric dentistry at the University of Washington. She successfully completed her residency in June 2010, earning a specialty certificate and Master’s of Science in Dentistry.
Dr. Takenaka met and married her husband while they were both dental school students in New York. They have a cat named Sophie that they adopted from an animal shelter in Seattle. They enjoy hiking, riding their bikes, reading English mystery books, and going on long car drives to fun destinations in Oregon and Washington.
Wendy
Receptionist
Wendy is responsible for scheduling appointments, reviewing treatment plans with parents, discussing financial arrangements, and helping coordinate insurance and billing.
Wendy has worked in the dental field for the last 13 years. She earned her dental assisting certificate from Renton Technical College in 1996 and spent 10 years working as a chairside dental assistant in Bellevue for a general dentistry practice before joining us in DuPont. She is CPR and DANB certified and is always looking for ways to increase her dental knowledge and skills. She is eager to bring her expertise in the dental field to the front desk. Parents and patients appreciate her caring and cheerful demeanor and her willingness to help them in any way she can.
In her spare time, Wendy enjoys spending time with her son Ethan, age 8, extended family, and friends. She has recently taken up snowboarding and boating.
Kelli
Dental Assistant
Kelli has 26 years of experience as a Registered Dental Assistant.
She received her Dental Assisting education from L.H. Bates and Clover Park Technical College in 1985. Kelli’s first experience in dentistry was in pediatrics in Tacoma, Washington. She is experienced in many aspects of the dental field, including general, pediatric and hospital dentistry. Kelli is CPR certified and continues to expand her dental knowledge by attending continuing education courses yearly.
Kelli has 2 children: Kaylee, age 21 and Kyle, age 19. She enjoys her 2 dogs, 2 cats, biking, camping, shopping and going to Arizona on vacation.
Emily
Dental Assistant
Emily is a relative newcomer to the dental field and is excited to be joining a pediatric dental practice. She graduated from Clover Park Technical College in 2011 with a certificate in dental assisting. She is CPR and DANB certified and looks forward to learning and growing with our practice.
Emily enjoys working with children and teaching them why good oral hygiene practiced now can lay the foundation for good oral health throughout their lives. She is dedicated to helping her patients have a fun and enjoyable experience every time they visit.
In her spare time Emily enjoys camping, snowboarding, and golfing with her parents and 17-year-old brother.
